On Set in Downtown Los Angeles

Yesterday, the film crew from Daybreak constructed New York City scenes around me everywhere I went.  It was thoughtful of the company to work so hard to bring New York to me.  Leaving the office at Fig & 7th, I saw New York public transit buses, taxi cabs and a New York produce truck.  I came home to find a film shoot being set up on my street.  Shortly thereafter, the New York taxi cabs and the same produce truck appeared.  Manhattan was still in the process being constructed when I walked over to Gym Box. On my way home from the gym, the street was watered down and full of extras milling about, steam was being pumped in, and the Cecil Hotel was transformed into a full New York scene!

I headed up to my apartment to get a bird's eye view of the production.  I learned that if you are going to work in film, you need patience and lots of it.  I did not realize the great length of waiting periods between takes and the number of times the same scene must be shot over and over again. The novelty of watching a movie being produced wore off rather quickly.

But, I did have enough patience to capture the following scene.  Here's a sneak peak:
