Following the same concept, here is an overview of restaurant openings and development updates on downtown locations I have collected from a variety of sources within the last couple of weeks. Enjoy!
Peruvian Restaurant Mo-Chica Now Open
According to Los Angeles Downtown News, Mo-Chica opened today at 7th and Olive. The restaurant will feature interpretations of traditional Peruvian dishes that were originally served at the USC location. Open Monday through Saturday with lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and dinner from 5:00 p.m. to Midnight. Industriel French Restaurant Now Open
According to Brigham Yen, Industriel, which offers urban farm cuisine/country French is now open at 6th and Grand. Industriel serves lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the week and will eventually add breakfast. Weekend hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Eat.Drink.Americano Now Open in Arts District
According to the Los Angeles Times and Mr. Yen, the gastropub, Eat.Drink.Americano on 3rd Street in the Arts District is now open. The gastropub offers locally-sourced foods such as artisanal cheeses, charcuterie specialties, smoked salmon plates, oxtail burgers, and crab. It appears to be meat heavy and only offers beer and wine. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday, 5:00pm to late night.

New Vegan Spot: Localita & The Badasserie
According to blogdowntown, a vegan kiosk-style cafe with an awesome name, Localita & The Badasserie, offering pre-made vegan sandwiches, salads and smoothies as well as "pantry staples," which is characterized as "healthy and hearty vegan comfort food" will open next month at 817 S. Los Angeles Street. The cafe will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays with abbreviated hours on the weekends.

According to me walking by on the way to work, Tossed at Wilshire and Hope is new open. Tossed offers wraps, salads, sandwiches, paninis, soups, smoothies and desserts. They also offer a gluten free menu. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends. Check out Yelp for $20 for $30.

Blossom Expansion
According to Brigham Yen, Blossom, the Vietnamese restaurant on Main and 4th will expand by 1,200 square feet, taking over the space next store, which used to house Stella Dottir clothing store. Blossom hopes the expansion will be complete by early 2013, but much of that is determined by the city.

Grand Park Set to Open This Summer
According to the Los Angeles Times, Grand Park, covering 12 acres from Bunker Hill to City Hall is scheduled to open sometime this summer. Once open, it will be one of the largest parks in Los Angeles.
Street Parking Fees to Fluctuate
According to Los Angeles Downtown News, downtown street parking fees could fluctuate from 50 cents to $6 an hour, depending on how many cars are looking for a spot. The program will have higher prices during peak hours, which is intended to encourage drivers to make trips during less busy periods. The new rates go into effect June 4, 2012.
Plans for The Wilshire Grand
According to blogdowntown, renovations for the former Wilshire Grand hotel will cost approximately $1 billion. The hotel is being built by Korean Airlines and will host 70 stories, a top floor lobby, infinity pool, bar, restaurant and high-speed elevators that will transport guests up to the 70th floor. The shape and design of the skyscraper is still being fully developed, but the hotel will be the second tallest building in Southern California. It is expected to be completed in 2017.
Leather Manufacturer Opens
According to blogdowntown, Sandast, a leather manufacturer, opened to the public as a showroom and store on May 17, showcasing clothing, jewelry and even sunglasses going for the same handmade style of workmanship. Sandast is located at 1205 South Hill Street.
Union Station Development
