The day I picked up the keys to our downtown loft, I was shocked to see a group of five males smoking crack in the alleyway that lead to our underground parking. Although I fancy myself a cultured individual who can cross socio-economic lines, I had never seen anyone smoking crack in the open at 10:00 a.m. on a Tuesday. My friends who had lived in the area said, "Welcome to Downtown!" And so the journey began.
In my one month of living downtown, I have renamed the half alley (which ends at our parking garage) and the area surrounding our apartment, "Pantless Alley." Really, any activity that one does without pants has been witnessed in our alley.
As I approach my one month anniversary of living in downtown, I decided to create this blog to capture snapshots of experiences in downtown Los Angeles. I envision it as a tribute to the city's growth and improvement.

Following, I hope to capture moments, both in writing and visually, to share my experiences of living in Downtown Los Angeles in 2012.
As an added bonus, I plan to throw in some history of our building and area.
