Mail Nazi

I live in the top floor of a short building.  One my secret excitements about the apartment is that it was labeled PH. Coming from a New York perspective, those were awe-inspiring letters to see attached to an apartment, full of dreams. When it came time to change my address, I thought "I will most likely never again live in a PH, so I have to take advantage of this and change my address to PH rather than Apt. or #." Its an easy way to get a small thrill and feel good about myself.

I first changed my address at the DMV* when I had to go into the office to renew my license.  I was informed that I needed to note it as South Main.  But they had no problem noting the PH instead of  Apt or #.

Apparently, our mail person is upset my choice to utilize PH designation for a self-esteem boast. I keep getting notes on everything such as:

Sorry mail nazi, but I am not redoing a change of address to adjust two letters to a symbol.  You have been able to get my mail to the right place so far...

*Sidenote on the downtown DMV: I had the most wonderful experience at the DMV that is located just east of USC. I made an appointment, but forgot to bring my printout. Of course the time I forget to bring the print-out, they did not have my appointment in their book. But, several people made exceptions so that I was immediately served and taken care of. Both of the individuals helping me were very kind and we had great conversations. It was actually fun to go to the DMV.
