10 Random Reasons I Love Living in Downtown L.A.

1. I can walk everywhere I need to go.

2. A sense of community. I love knowing my neighbors, neighborhood shop, bar and restaurant employees and owners, and of course, the local characters.

3. I can shop for essentials at a discounted rate in my backyard at areas like the Fashion District, Fabric District, Flower District, and Grand Central Market to name a few.

4. A great date night filled with vegetarian ramen or sushi, Yogurtland and karaoke is only a few blocks away in Little Tokyo.

5. There is alway something to do, even on a Tuesday night.

6. Not only can I run through the Los Angeles State Historic ParkOlvera Street, Chinatown, the Historic Bank District and over a classic Los Angeles bridge and river, I always receive unique and encouraging words and gestures from the characters that populate Downtown.

7. The architectural beauty and sense of history.

8. Great happy hour locations, especially on the rooftops (Perch, The Standard).

9. The amazing city view from my apartment. It never gets old.

10. I can now pinpoint the exact locations in every city car commercial, especially the Volkswagon.
